Ignoring the environment

One of the things that helped me decide whether I should keep Seraphina or not was her social skill and how excited she is about communicating with a human, which in dog dance is something that when handled properly is quite important tor the way the dog will work without a treat or a toy in the ring.
However, it’s a skill that should be developed with care so that the dog only has that social drive towards his handler.
That’s why I decided to start a training with a human distraction that is under my control so she can learn how to ignore another human while we are doing something.
The beginning was extremely challenging but as the session continued she became better and better and didn’t try to say hi anymore even after a release. I can already see that this will be a long process and a leash on only process but I trust my girl and myself that we can do it.
Afterwards we changed to another session of ignoring stuff on the ground and making the right decision regarding what she finds down there. I really like watching her reaction but I can also see that it’s another point we would have to work very hard to improve.
After we finished the morning training she was so tired in her brain that she immediately went to sleep and only later the day we did something more.
She did already better than in the previous session and I could see she really is starting to think so I was really happy 😅
After that we recharged and started tricks luring session followed by the “where am I” focus game and I was seriously proud! I can really feel how things are becoming more clear to her slowly and working with her is becoming more fun by the day !!!!
I had to go out for some arrangements so there was no toy session until the evening but at the evening she was also pretty good too !
I mean, she didn’t retrieve so much but she is starting to come closer to me which was really hard for her to do so I think we’re on the right way, but more importantly when she heard a big noise she kept communicating and didn’t run away as she did in the past so for that she gets 100 points 😍
It’s really fun for me to see how she grows slowly and what kind of ideas are going to her mind and from her mind and even though it’s only one month together she is already teaching me so much and for that I am really grateful ❤️
