Going to the train station!

This day was extra fun as we got to meet Swasey (Seraphina’s brother) in the train station!
A big part of the socialisation process that I am constantly writing about is making sure that no matter the environment the dog can hear his handler and cooperate with the training.
Trains tend to make A LOT of noise, which makes the train station the perfect place to work on that :)
At first I started from a short session of reinforce and release game that worked well if I look at how hard it was. What I loved the most was that she didn’t care about the noise as much as she did about saying hello to her bro and his owners. But eventually she was also able to ignore everyone and just enjoy her time with me and we even managed to play a bit with the toy which made me super proud!
After coming back home and resting for a few hours I noticed that she was a bit tired and weak, so I wasn’t sure if we should train anymore or not. Finally I gave it a chance and played with her for a few minutes before saying that’s enough and letting her rest more for the rest of the day.
It’s always hard when you have a puppy to NOT train. But sometimes (most times) we have to be the adults and make the decision of just letting the puppy rest.
So my decision was, I feel you are not your normal self, but I also know that you are a puppy with a lot of energy that needs to come out, so I will allow you to rest and see how you feel tomorrow before I jump to any conclusions.
