Going on a walk

We started our day with some training in the garden but unfortunately the sound of these videos disappeared š³
Not sure how or why but I hope you can see some things even without the sound.
The first thing I did was the reinforce & release game frok my foundations course, which in my opinion is the best game ever to play with a novice dog regardless his age but even an experienced dog when arriving to a new environment can benefit and improve his engagement with this game.
The next thing we did was the platform work.
Just very basic and fun because I NEED her to love the targets š.
And finally the morning session ended with some tugging. At this time the hardest part for me with Seraphina is understanding her toy drive.
I know she has a strong prey drive and a solid grip but when we play together her grip becomes weaker and her concentration is also misplaced as her social drive is very strong as well so itās very easy for her to drop the toy and come closer to me. In this session I was mostly trying to get a better grip, because if she will have a better grip when we play together we can tug more, she can enjoy more and our time playing together will be much more fun for both of us.
Later that day I took her for her first walk without the carrier.
This was the first time I let her get out of the house gate on a leash and it was very big change for her as I live on the main road in a very noisy street. At first it was a bit hard for her but after a minute or two she started to enjoy the walking and exploring and I was changing between laughing from how she does things and trying to give her the time and soace she needs to cope with all the new visions and smells around her!
This walk to the shop normally takes me about 3 minutes but obviously with a puppy everything can take longer.
But once we made it to the shop I even had a few moments to feed her and show her another potential working environment!
The walk back home was already easier and it was super funny. We even had some time to work the reinforce & release game again in another place and she was great!
As soon as we arrived she went to sleep for a few hours and I was able to rest too.
At night we worked again with treats and toy before her real dinner and I was so proud when she was able to get back to work with food after the big noise from the motorcycle in the street.
And with the toy, I am slowly figuring out how to move in a way that is more engaging for her without dropping the toy, so I was even able to get her to retrieve the toy a few times!
I feel like there is so much I need to learn about her before we can become a real team but every step that we take is so educating and interesting for me and I am so happy that I decided to keep her!
