Back to business

Our first session after 5 days apart was really funny.
Every time I fly out to give workshops I return in a different energy than what I left with, so it also takes time to get back to business.
I decided to start from some concentration games and basic luring and I was really happy with Seraphina’s reactions. She always goes back to focus and doesn’t miss the opportunity to cooperate with me, even when one of my dogs was barking (who knows why 😂) she got a bit nervous but immediately came back to the training. I even managed to use some commands for some of the tricks we are working on with luring.
The toy was a different story on the other hand. It was much harder to start back where we stopped and I needed some time to realize that we need to go back to just tugging because as always dog training is 2 steps forward and 1 step back. I am not worried about it, because I trust the process but I was a bit frustrated with myself for not realizing it beforehand.
After playing with the toy I went back to the food.
We trained the eye contact exercise and then tried a “reversed lure” for backwards movement for the first time and baby girl was a total rockstar!
She even kept her tail wagging in the new movement which for me means the world
we finished with some heeling positions and then ended the training.
At the afternoon we went out for a walk and I was so proud of her! You can see on the video how much she has improved in how she feels about the environment. I mean, of course, she is not perfect yet about everything, but she is super happy and easy to engage whenever I need her to come to me. After about 15 minutes of walking, I saw she lost it and decided to carry her back all the way back.
I noted my self a few things to work on; people approaching, dogs barking and baby strollers.
At night she was done.
So I only took her out for a couple of minutes and called it a day.
